Quelque-chose de simple, comme une ballade began as a collective experience inspired by the experimental teaching methods of Black Mountain College. Consisting of an installation in a gallery space that was transformed by six artists into an atelier for one week in March 2016, the results of this experiment were organized and made available to the public. My contribution to this research included an investigation of the Arlesian territory (where I lived in 2013 - 2014) through photographic and sound forms. This collection of traces and my encounters in Arles were not only geographic but also mental in nature. A portable cassette player operated by artists and participants alike was a central tool. An ongoing debate on the idea of failure repeatedly surfaced throughout the week, as demonstrated by the sound recordings that were integrated into the final installation.
